Let me tell you a storyI'm out with some friends in London. And we decide to get something to eat. But it being London, it's pouring with rain and there's not an empty taxi in sight. Someone knows an Italian restaurant nearby, eventually he gets their number, but they can't take a booking. A couple of the others suggest some places but they're too far to go in the rain. So what did we do... went to a restaurant no one knew and had one of the worst meals ever. That's when I started thinking about creating EPok. I thought wouldn't it be great if you could just get out your mobile, read reviews from people, then find somewhere good to eat. Or better still, every month someone recommends restaurants to try and they're all really good. Wouldn't that be great? To be continued. And you know as we taste a little bit of success. You start to wonder could this be the one. Everyone seems to be happy. It's a win, win situation for everyone. The restaurants are happy, people using our service are happy and we're happy because we're enjoying what we do. So, could this be the one? To be continued. Well thing's have changed a hell of a lot since those early days. Heads up to Norm who said "There's probably more tourists eating out in London than Londoners." We realised then to also offer our service to tourists which is why the emphasis of the whole site has changed. Of course Londoners can still use us and we'll see where it goes from here. It was different for meYears ago one of my favourite restaurants closed down. I couldn't believe it, service, price, food it was great. Problem was it was in a terrible location and hardly anyone knew about it. There're lots of great restaurants like that in London and I figured EPok looked like a good way of saving them. You see I believe there are enough decent people out there that are willing to do honest reviews that will save those unusual restaurants. To be continued. I've finished the redesign of the site to make it easier to navigate and clearer. There were however some things I wanted to put in but couldn't fit anywhere. Here's some of what got left on my digital cutting room floor:
That's not all folks, I know there will be more redesigns so stayed looney tuned. To be continued. The other guys don't agree with this but I'm going to stick my neck out and close the mobile site down. Our business model and reason for being has changed so much since we started and the time and effort it would take to get it up to scratch and to keep it up to date doesn't make sense. If I'm wrong, well we'll see! To be continued.

"We know where to get the best deals, let's tell tourists."
I just love an offerI love it when you get a deal on something and you don't have to pay full price. So when I found out you could get offers at restaurants, theatres and loads of other stuff. It was time to Mambo!!! Baby. What bugged me though was that you always had to register to get the offers. WHY? They're free offers. Why couldn't they just tell you what they were. So when the idea of EPok came along I said I'm in, as long as I can do it my way and people don't have to register to get an offer. To be continued. It seems people are loving the EPok Casual concept. Not having to register for the offer is working well and as one to always say I told you so. I told you so guys ;) To be continued.
